  • Scooby came to us after his previous owners felt they could not give him enough time due to work commitments. Since arriving, he has shown himself to be a sweet, affectionate, playful and people-oriented dog. Unfortunately, we have realised that our home is stressing him out. We have a young potentially autistic toddler, and while Scooby has never shown aggression towards her or any other child, he becomes overwhelmed by the noise, unpredictability that she brings as she a lot of the times only communicate through screaming. When he feels stressed, he tends to pace, pant, whine, chew inappropriate items, or try to remove himself from the situation rather than showing any aggressive behaviour. I chose that he is comfortable with children for all ages but I would say 4+ but only if they are calm. I just didn't want to say 12+ because his previous owners had an 8 year old and he was absolutely fine with him. However, we feel he would be happiest in a calmer environment where he can relax without becoming overstimulated. This decision has been incredibly difficult, and our priority is finding him a loving, suitable home where he can thrive. We are in no rush to place him with just anyone and want to ensure he finds the right match. We are in Bury St Edmunds, I couldn’t select that on the location. I put £200 adoption fee just so that we know whoever wants him, wants him for the right reasons.

Description

Scooby is a beautiful Boxer x Mastiff cross with the sweetest nature and the biggest heart. He is around 1 year old and still very much a big puppy at heart. He absolutely loves people and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. Whether you're making a cup of tea, watching TV or just popping to the bathroom, Scooby likes to know what you're up to. He has the most expressive face and never fails to make us laugh with his goofy personality. He loves his walks, enjoys playing with toys, and has a hilarious obsession with chasing flies around the house. He's a real character who brings so much joy and entertainment wherever he goes. His previous owners and ourselves have countless stories of his funny little quirks, from sulking when a toy goes under the sofa to staring intensely at flies as if he can move them with his mind. Scooby is affectionate, loving and eager to bond with his people. He enjoys attention and thrives on companionship. He is not aggressive and has lived with children, but as a young, energetic dog he can become overwhelmed in very busy environments and would benefit from a calmer home where he can continue to grow in confidence and receive the time and guidance he deserves. This decision has absolutely broken our hearts, and we are only looking for a new home because we truly believe Scooby deserves an environment where he can thrive. We are in no rush and want to find him the loving forever home that he deserves

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
