Description
Benson is a Standard Poodle, 13 months old and was born with a cleft. He was the last of our litter and after hand-rearing him, I simply didn’t have the heart to let him go. He has grown into a wonderful, affectionate and funny boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves bouncing on the trampoline and cuddling up with his favourite toy unicorn. This has been a very difficult decision, but due to my disability I am no longer able to consistently provide the level of exercise and stimulation Benson needs. Alongside the additional cost of a second dog, I feel it is in his best interest to find a home that can fully meet his needs. The donation should reflect the level of commitment I am hoping to see from Benson’s new owner, as well as covering his neutering, microchipping and vaccinations, all of which are up to date. His cleft has been assessed by multiple vets, all of whom advised against correction as it does not affect him. If anything, it gives him his own unique, slightly wonky and very endearing smile. Benson’s training is progressing well. He knows a range of commands, and his recall has been trained using a whistle. Like many adolescent dogs, he can be a little inconsistent at times, so he will benefit from continued training and guidance. We are looking for a committed, patient and experienced home—ideally someone familiar with active or high-energy dogs—who can offer him structure, ongoing training, and plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Benson is a much-loved dog, and his wellbeing is our absolute priority. He is used to children, and has been playful and patient with my autistic son. We would ideally like to stay in touch initially and ensure that any transition is as smooth as possible for him. If you feel you could offer Benson the right home, we would be very happy to hear from you and answer any questions.
