- Atlas was rescued by us from Morocco. The African country, Morocco, is facing a huge crisis for its stray dogs — thousands are suffering from disease, malnutrition, rabies, and abuse. The king has also announced that all strays should be killed before the 2026 World Cup. We have witnessed all of this first-hand and it is horrendous. That's why, when Atlas came to us for help in the mountains, we knew we had to rescue him. However, we live and travel full-time in a campervan with two kids and knew that this wasn't the life for Atlas. So we found a loving home for him once he returned to the UK. Unfortunately, the adoptees have dropped out and now we're stuck in a difficult position. Atlas has already grown from his puppy size and it's now becoming a real problem having him in the campervan. He needs space, comfort, and freedom. We can't give him all of that. He needs a loving home and to be with someone who can give him the love he deserves, take him on walks and let him run, give him space in their home, and let him be the sweet dog he is.

Description
Atlas is an Atlas mountain shepherd breed (hence the name), roughly 9 months old. He's up to date with all his vaccinations, is unneutered, and has a 1-year rabies vaccination. He is also microchipped, holds an EU Spanish passport, and has a titre test certificate. He has the sweetest personality and just wants to be loved. He's not overly affectionate but will come for a snuggle during the day or in the evenings. He loves to play with soft toys and loves to chomp on a bone. However, he hasn't quite mastered the art of fetch yet. On lead, he is great — he doesn’t pull and responds well to commands. He is good off lead in a quiet, open space, though he still gets easily distracted by wildlife. A new owner will need to gain his trust and practise these commands with high valued treats such as chicken or cheese. Off lead recall is still working progress due to him becoming a teen his ears a little hit and miss still! For his diet, we currently feed him twice a day with Wainwright’s puppy kibble, adding tinned meat to his evening meal. Throughout the day, he usually has a bone, fruit, a lick mat, or a snuffle treat ball. As he is a rescue, so he does get nervous and protective of his home and tends to bark or growl at things coming near. But once he greets them with a sniff, he just wants to play. We can travel anywhere in the country if it means Atlas will receive the loving home and space he deserves.
