Description

Buddy Buddy Breed - lurcher x Saluki Size - Medium/large Sex - male Age - 12 months old Can live with children - ✅ Can live with dogs - ✅ Can live with cats - ❌ has done with me, but did attempt to chase Buddy is a very chilled young boy who adores nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa and to be with his humans. He has been in a training foster placement with one person, but lots of adults in the grounds, a visiting child, 4 cats and 4 other dogs. He has also been daily to day train well socialised with other dogs and taught to play and interact politely. He has been great with every human and dog he has met although gravitates towards people rather than dogs. Buddy would suit a home on his own with committed owners who are willing to maintain the structure, fulfilment and leadership in the home that buddy has responded so well to, he could potentially live with another chilled dog (he has lived with my 4 with no issues but this is not necessary as he is definitely more of a person dog than overly bothered with the others). Buddy came to me with some lead reactivity, which is resolved now, and was largely down to frustration on a short lead, overspill of built up arousal and lack of proper socialisation, he has shown me no aggression towards other dogs in or outside the home since. Buddy came to me struggling to be left alone and apparent separation anxiety, with a crate routine and structure and boundaries I have found this absolutely not to be the case and he is now fine being left and loves the safety of his crate as it enables him to switch off. He also has a solid bed command in the home but takes himself off to his bed to chill now that he is being fulfilled elsewhere. Buddy is off lead when out on walks and returns when called. His walking on a loose lead is now very good. Buddy is fully house trained and also crated overnight or when left home alone with him still being young maintaining this routine is preferable whilst he settles and learns the ropes to make sure him switching off when left alone doesn’t revert back. Buddy has been left for up to 6 hours with no issues. He is clean in the house and non destructive. He is food motivated and picks up new commands quickly. He also loves to play both fetch and tug! Buddy travels well in the car. He will make a wonderful companion who enjoys cuddling up on the sofa. A handover of buddy’s training up to now and WhatsApp support continuing this will be provided by Rachel (the training foster placement he has been in). Is buddy the dog that you are looking for? FurDopt Safety Advice: You MUST read our buyer's checklist before contacting the advertiser.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
